Read a letter from his son, Ronnie Lee Draper My father, William Draper, was a pilot in Laos in 1968/69. These photos were taken by dad after he made captain in the Porter. His first 6 months were as a co-pilot in the C-46's based out of Vientiane. I have spent many hours on your web pages reading stories looking at photos and searching in hopes of finding my father's name somewhere in a story or a photo that may have been taken. I have not found his name anywhere. I hope that my donation of these photos taken by my father may get his name on the list of brave pilots who served the cause and his country in the CIA's time of need. He did answer the call. Some of these photos are the streets of Vientiane, the Vientiane Airport, and in front of the DMZ club in Vientiane. I am sorry I cannot tell you anything more about the photos taken upcountry as my father passed away before he was able to tell me about them. I know he took them for a reason - perhaps a downed aircraft near the Ho Chi Minh Trail or a Landing Strip. Maybe some the old timers that were there will recognize the upcountry pictures. All I ask is if these photos are used please show my father's name, William Richard Draper, as the photographer and CAS pilot. I am very proud of my father. What a wonderful life theses brave men and their families lived and enjoyed. I and mom also spent 6 months or so in Laos when he sent for us after he made captain in the Porter. You will notice the CAS colors on the aircraft. I also included a photo of Dave Kubba in front of a CAS porter taken by dad around the years 1968/1969 in Laos. I sure do miss dad and find a lot of comfort in the stories and pictures for on your web site. Thank you for your web page. God Bless all the brave pilots and families that made your site possible.
Ronnie Lee Draper
